Artist Studio Video by Nikos Mamalos

As part of the “Art of Living” | Ionian Experience campaign, photographer and visual artist Nikos Mamalos directed a unique video capturing the real space of artistic inspiration and creation. The video offers rare access to the personal and working environment of the artist, intertwining the creative process with everyday imagery and stimuli that shape it.

Artist's Table Photogrammetry

In this segment, 3D Artist Leonidas Koufalis digitally reconstructed the painter George Pennas’ working table using advanced photogrammetry techniques. He developed both a data presentation video and a prototype video game. The goal of this digital capture is twofold: to integrate the 3D model into future physical exhibitions and to embed it in interactive, game-based learning environments designed for exploration and discovery.

Web VR Exhibition Design by oi2τ{ρ}όποι Architectural Office

The architectural office oi2τ{ρ}όποι, led by award-winning architect Angeliki Thymi, with collaborators Christos Christo and Karolina Samoili, curated and executed all digital formats of the exhibition: Web VR, Stereoscopic VR, and Animated VR. Drawing inspiration directly from the works of George Pennas, the team explored innovative ways to present art using immersive technologies.

Due to constraints in existing platforms that limit expressive freedom in virtual space design, a new 3D environment was developed. In this custom virtual setting, the artworks were embedded into a narrative animated experience. The digital exhibition video—directed, filmed, and edited by Christos Christo and Angeliki Thymi—features digitally inserted flowers symbolically linked to the artworks, while the architecture of the space is purpose-built to highlight the pieces on display.

Notably, Angeliki Thymi has authored a dissertation titled “The Imaginary Museum” and has been recognized for her work in cultural space and exhibition design. The 3D architecture also served as the conceptual foundation for creating a fictional virtual environment used as a tour space for the exhibition of artworks.
