Academic Profile

Eleni Christodoulopoulou is a PhD candidate at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University. Her doctoral research focuses on designing a digital framework for managing funded cultural projects using Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and benchmarking methods.

She holds an MSc in Information Systems from the Ionian University and a BSc in Informatics from the Hellenic Open University. She has 29 years of public sector experience in Greece, having served in senior roles such as Director of IT and Head of the Tourism and Citizen Service (KEP) departments at the Prefecture of Corfu, where she led major IT modernization projects, including the transition to the national network “Syzefxis.”

From 2011 to 2014, she worked at Information Society S.A. as a Project Manager, handling large-scale digital transformation projects for public administration (e.g., National Registry, Special Civil Registry) and national funding schemes for SMEs (e.g., digi-retail, digi-lodge).

Since 2014, she has worked as a freelancer in Greece and the UAE, focusing on web development, digital strategy, and consultancy services for drafting and submitting funding proposals under Horizon Europe, Interreg, ESIF, LEADER, and other EU and national programs.

She is currently affiliated with the Institute for Games Research (IGR) of Ionian University, actively contributing to the preparation and coordination of research and cultural project proposals. Her work intersects AI, digital heritage, gamification, accessibility, and strategic funding innovation in cultural contexts.
